Constructed between 1954 and 1956, the 45-story Mobil Building is among the largest stainless steel skyscrapers in the world, designed by Harrison & Abramovitz in the International and Moderne styles. It was named for Mobil, the tenant that occupied half the building when it was completed. The New York City landmark, adjacent to Grand Central Station, is now owned by real estate investor David Werner.

Management company Jones Lang LaSalle hired RCM to restore the facade of decorative metal panels, which proved to be an enormous undertaking — due to years of deferred maintenance, we had to remove more than a decade of excess oxidation and debris from the steel-clad façade. Despite this challenge, Royal completed the project in a record time of less than 75 days, using custom materials to restore the exterior.
